Delete Your Account
Permanently remove your EasySplit account and all associated data.
This action is irreversible
Once your account is deleted, all your data is permanently removed from our systems. This cannot be undone, and we cannot recover your data after deletion.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Deleting your EasySplit account permanently removes:
- Your profile — name, email, Google account association, and avatar
- All expense data — every expense you created or participated in, including descriptions, amounts, and categories
- Group memberships — you will be removed from all groups. Groups with other members will continue to exist, but your name will appear as "Deleted User" in past expenses.
- Receipt images — all uploaded receipt photos are permanently erased from our encrypted storage
- Payment information — your UPI VPA and any stored settlement preferences
- Phone number — if you added one for invites
- Authentication tokens — all active sessions are immediately invalidated
Data deletion is processed within 30 days of your request. Server logs containing your IP address are purged within 90 days. Some anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Before You Delete
Consider these steps before deleting your account:
- Settle outstanding balances — check your groups for any unsettled debts. Once deleted, other members will lose access to your payment information.
- Inform group members — let your group members know you're leaving. Your name will appear as "Deleted User" in their expense history.
- Export your data — if you want a copy of your expenses and group history, email support@akash-deep.com to request a data export before deletion.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: From the App (Recommended)
- 1Open EasySplit and go to your Profile
- 2Tap Settings
- 3Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- 4Confirm by typing "DELETE" when prompted
- 5Your account will be queued for permanent deletion
Option 2: Request via Email
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us. Please send from the email address associated with your EasySplit account.
This opens your email client with a pre-filled deletion request to support@akash-deep.com
After Deletion
- You will be signed out of all devices immediately
- You can create a new account with the same Google account at any time, but none of your previous data will be restored
- If you experience any issues with the deletion process, contact support@akash-deep.com
